Ertle Family Donates Over 250 Turkeys To Help Struggling Food Bank
Jim Ertle of Ertle Cars in Stroudsburg heard through social media that a local food bank in the west end was looking for donated turkeys for their annual Thanksgiving food pick up this past Saturday. The West End Food Bank had a goal of collecting 250 donated turkeys for families in need. Jim Ertle stopped by the pantry, located at the Eldred Community Center to see how they were making out. Upon talking with director Karena Thek he soon found out they had only gotten 12 turkeys donated so far and were far short of meeting their goal which was just days away. Jim then got on the phone and started to make calls and got 250 turkeys plus the trimmings delivered to the center in time for a successful food pick up for families in need. Jim Ertle felt this was a great way to kick off the Share The Love campaign which in past years has donated tens of thousands of dollars to help benefit many local charities.
The Share the Love campaign is a partnership between Ertle Cars and Subaru which helps raise monies through sales that go directly back to the community to help charities in need. Over the past 11 years the Ertle family has been able to raise tens of thousands of dollars that have benefited the United Way, Meals on Wheels, Valor, Hughes Cancer Center, Camp Pappilion, and the Leukemia Foundation to name a few.
Please join Jim Ertle tomorrow Tuesday November 20th at 11am at Ertle Cars, 798 N. 9t St Stroudsburg Pa to find out more about this story of giving back to the community and how businesses can’t get involved with helping others out in time of need.
